Euan Holden

Our current 1st Team Captain/Club Captain, Euan has been playing for Melbourne for 30 years and is part of the fabric of the club. From Leamington Spa originally, living there till he was two years old when the family moved to Castle Donnington. His father took Euan to Melbourne M&Js aged 6 and he was coached in his age group by Andy Fulton.

Good enough a player to play NLD and Midland Counties he was invited for trials at Leicester Tigers. Not wanting to commit to full time rugby at the age of fifteen, Euan turned down the opportunity and instead concentrated on education, studying Sports Science and Physio at Leeds University.

Returning to Melbourne Rugby Club after University, Euan is proud to be a one club man having never played for another. 30 years on there is still a lot more Melbourne Rugby to come from Euan.
