18. Guy Page

Lived in Findern till moving to Littleover at 4 yrs old then Mickleover from 15. Guy left home at 18 years old to go narrow boating for a couple of years.

Became a nurse then trained at Birmingham for 6 years, before entering General Nursing at the City Hospital in Derby (now the Royal Derby Hospital) and specialising in Older People’s Care. He met his wife Julie who was sitting behind him during the taking of his final exam, and they married in 1987. They lived in a flat above his father’s business in St Werburgh Street in Derby until they bought a house in Barrow on Trent.

Guy knew Tim Boyse from living in Barrow and went to a joint birthday party of Tim and Roger Lucas who shared the same birthday. Needless to say there were rather a lot of rugby folks there and Guy expressed an interest in the game.
His first game involved Roger being sin binned for throwing a punch. Guy’s rugby playing was mainly for Phil Johnson’s thirds, and the Muffs (Melbourne Under 55s).

Guy’s tireless work for the Club extends to two positions on the Committee. Joint Chairman with Roger Lucas and Senior Joint Match Day Ops Manager with his wife Julie. Most importantly, Guy is Curator and Operator of the electronic score board on the MSP Clubhouse wall, his diligence we are all most grateful for.
