Uttoxeter pulled out, so the U15s quickly cobbled together a round robin v Ashby and Leicester Forest in appalling conditions. In the first half Ashby pushed a maul over the line for an early try, but never really threatened again. Melbourne got on their feet and constantly threatened the Ashby line but didn't quite get over before the bell tolled for what seemed like a short half. A short game combined with our historic record of slow starts, one had the sense we were coming back hard. All in all, a good run out.
Next it was Leicester Forest. They went up first. We came back with a late try to Robert Rustom to pounced rapidly on a Forest error. One try a piece.
Wet and mucky. We will have to learn to play to those conditions better, but all in all against competition like Ashby and Forest it was a reasonable effort.
