This U15s win at Derby was even better than last week's victory ground out away at Stafford.
The U15s appears to be a squad that sticks together and remoulds in-game to meet the opposition it finds itself up against.
Derby fielded almost two teams, so it appeared that the running was only going to get harder as the game progressed, and that was quite a prospect when Melbourne were 2 tries down after 10 minutes.
But in a repeat of last week the U15s tuned in, settled down and pulled the game around. Derby ran hard at us; they flew out of the scrum with pace and power and insightful kicking. We were nervous with ball in response. It felt a bit like Goliath stamping on David, but ol' David, he rose again and ran Goliath down with his own game.
It was great to have the support of the boys who were out with injuries cheering from the side. The parents of this team formed their relationships way back in those minis tours and so turn out regularly en-masse to rally the boys from the side lines.
