It was a tough day at the office for Melbourne Academy in their first game of the season. Playing a very well-drilled side from Lichfield RFC, Melbourne RFC had lots of defending to do in the first half but fronted up very well. Although Melbourne Academy turned around at halftime without a score they came back hard and put Lichfield under pressure in the second half resulting in two well-made tries for forwards Dennis Lucas and Henry Calverley with Sam Bampton-Spencer adding one conversion.
