I don’t know who said it but there is a lot of truth in the saying “that which doesn’t break us will make us stronger”
Could there be a more perfect end to an interesting and challenging season than a tour, time with good fiends and pockets full of Nutella?
Not to mention the brilliant rugby!
Following a busy 2 days of lovely activities (well done again Ally for organising) the marauding Melbourne Minxes were in need of a sugar boosting feast before beginning the triangular fixture at and against Mansfield and fellow tourists Hull...who knew blue cheese primula, toffee popcorn and Nutella was the food of champions!
Leading off with intensity they recaptured the spirit of previous contests by earning an early try advantage over their opposition. The quality of their rugby and teamwork was outstanding again and despite understandable tiredness they were also consistent as a unit.
The matches were fantastic and the Minxes really have made the contest for possession their mission. Looking at each of them - there isn’t one that hasn’t improved massively this season and we saw all of them put on a showcase of their abilities as skills.
Credit to the parents for sticking with it when so much seemed lost, to the girls for standing strong and welcoming new friends in with open hearts and minds and to the unit they have now become - playing rugby like strong, resilient, United, feisty, relentless girls
