This season a lot of our girls moved into U13s. It is a different world. The former year's team had all moved on - no mentors.
And, I started to think every time we met an opposition - what is it they get fed? Now I think, what is it that we are missing out on? Is there something in the South Derbyshire water?
Or, is it that our team are all bar one, Y7's? Even our solitary Y8 and tour-de-force (Tango) does not reach the lofty heights of most of those we face.
Our girls are going to learn one thing this year - it is how to fell mighty forests, and to keep the ball away from those long strong branches they call arms? And you know what - I believe the Melbourne U13s are taken this military objective to heart.
