Not the longest match report in history for this one. Moderns turned up with 11 Players and we agreed to lend them a few to even things up. Huge thanks to the Dallison Sistors, Guy, Alex and Toppo for agreeing to play for Moderns.
Melbourne had more new players with a 2nd Dallison agreeing to play and Iain Lucas pulling on his boots for the first time as well as Alistair McVicar from the Vets, and Jake Agreed to do a half.
Melbourne played some very nice Rugby lots of quick ball and recycling, and good continuity and did well in the scrums as they were un contested,
Ed and Pip were making good runs, and Pip did some great tackling, including damaging the team manager playing for Moderns.
Melbourne scored quite a few tries and, but Moderns never gave up and got stronger in the 2nd half, with a few more new players on loan, Guy Copper scoring twice for them.
Melbourne had a couple in injuries with Phil Jones going off in the first half and Kurtis coming on for 10 minutes, scoring and then getting injured.
Tony day made it onto the touch line to cheer us on.
Scorers for Melbourne were, Lucas 1 , Phil shoulders Jones 2 tries, Tom cresswell 2 tries, 1, Guy Cooper (for Melbourne), 1 for Kurtis, 1 for Jordan Sparkes, 2 for Jordan Hollis and 1 for Elliot Riley,
Dean got 10 conversions!!
For me the man of the Match was Pip Day who was on fire,
Thanks for Moderns for coming, many teams would have cried off and left us with no fixture
Lots of beer in pubs afterwards.
Great way to finish the season
