Matt takes all the point to close the gap to 4, finally realising going first has it's benefits!

Matt has already made his predictions for round 17!!

Melbourne 38 - 12 Market Rasen
Melbourne secured a 5 point win against a physically bigger Market Rasen side. Dogged in defence as usual. 6 Trys scored, 5 from the backs.

On to the other games

We both agreed on Lincoln v Ashby (25-33) and Dronfield v Ilkeston (34-24). Both were high scoring games, with Try scoring bonus points for all 4 sides.

Mat predicted correctly in all the other games with all 3 being tight affairs

Ashbourne 11-14 Long Eaton. Long Eaton's good form continues

Newark 27 - 18 Loughborough. No try BP for Newark though and nothing for Loughborough.

Southwell 29 - 27 Matlock. A 5 pointer for Southwell with Matlock picking up 2 points to help their cause at the bottom.

So the table see Melbourne 16 points clear with 6 to play and 30 points available. Melbourne are now also 25 points clear of 4th placed Ashbourne.
Dronfield and Long Eaton have opened up a 7 point gap to 4th placed Ashbourne. They meet on the 9th March at Dronfield which should be a tasty encounter.
At the bottom Southwell have leapfrogged Ashby with both on 20 points, 13 points adrift of Matlock in 10th place though.

A week off next week and then the 1s and 2s travel up to Matlock on the 2nd March (KO will be 3pm)
