Pete 4 up. Matt was given the option of 1st or 2nd choice this week and was not fussed so Pete attempting to steal the high ground this week.

Week 9 sees Melbourne travel to Newark. KO 3pm. The 2s are joining them too. KO 2,30.

Onto the other games with the tightness of the mid table teams making predictions tricky and seemingly anyone’s day.

Ashbourne v Matlock.
Tough one to start. Ashbourne good at home. Matlock will be looking to bounce back after 2 defeats in a row, but no-one relishes a trip to Ashbourne. 50/50 call on this one for Pete but going to go for an away win.
Matt sees this game as a tight affair also. Weather dependent in fact. If it’s a dog fight in the wet then Ashbourne may edge it and Matt pips Ashbourne on a supposed wet Saturday afternoon.

Dronfield v Loughborough
After very different starts to the season, Dronfield’s recent form is slightly better and their physicality as well as home advantage to be too much for Loughborough so Pete going for a home win.
Dronfield score points and have sured up their defence. Matt agrees with a home victory.

Ilkeston v long Eaton
Another tough one. Ilkeston beat Long Eaton in the NLD cup last weekend, with Long Eaton resting a few. Will Ilkeston’s pacy backs have too much for Long Eaton. Will Ilkeston manage to beat Long Eaton 2 weeks running? Long Eaton have found their feet though in the league and have some new players, so Pete feeling a reversal this weekend with a LE win away.
Several players unused in their Friday night game which saw Long Eaton lose to Ilkeston but could that now backfire with ilkeston at home and having an injection of confidence - Matt backs Ilks although they will need to be on form.

Ashby v Market Rasen
Despite the long journey for Market Rasen, Pete predicting that Market Rasen will have too much for Ashby especially having rested players in conceding their national cup game last weekend.
Matt can't see anything but an away win for this game. Internationals being over should see sides regain full strength and Market Rasen will be too strong.

Southwell v Lincoln.
Southwell are rock bottom and despite Lincoln being winless away from home this season, that to be broken with Pete seeing an away win here.
This one looks like it will be Lincoln’s first away win. Southwell have spirit and proved that in Round 8 against Melbourne but tough times ahead for the bottom placed club.

So we agree on 3 out of the 5. Can Matt claw back some ground?
