The Matthew Sanders Sports Foundation was set up following Matthews untimely death in 1999 to encourage young men and women up to the age of 18 to enjoy and excel in sport. Mick and Janet have recently taken the decision to close the Foundation and distribute the Funds to local sports clubs within Melbourne with whom they have had an association over the last 17 years, Melbourne RFC being one of the Clubs.
The Principle aim of the scheme is to provide funding to support projects ranging from Professional Coaching and the purchase of specific equipment to aid sporting opportunities to funding projects that would not otherwise be possible without this financial support.
